BPM Mobile App Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 5, 2026
App: BPM Mobile App
Company: Bellwether Software, LLC

1. About this App

BPM by Bellwether is the mobile companion app for the Bellwether Purchasing Manager (BPM) portal. The app is intended for existing Bellwether Purchasing Manager customers and requires an active BPM portal account to sign in.

The app allows authorized users to perform inventory-related activities from a mobile device, including barcode scanning, adding inventory to locations, adjusting quantities, issuing inventory, moving inventory, processing returns, and updating physical inventory counts.

Where this Privacy Policy refers to “Personal Information”, it means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be associated with an individual.

2. Information We Collect or Process

The BPM mobile app collects and processes the following information when used by authorized customer users:

  • Account and Sign-in Information
Information required to authenticate the user with the BPM portal, such as username, account identifier, or authentication token.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) Information
If a customer organization enables Single Sign-On, the app may allow users to sign in using Microsoft, Google, or Okta. Depending on the customer’s identity provider configuration, Bellwether may receive sign-in information such as the user’s name, email address, username, user identifier, organization or tenant information, authentication tokens, or identity claims required to authenticate the user and create an app session. The app does not collect or store the user’s Microsoft, Google, or Okta password.
  • Inventory Transaction Information
Inventory items, quantities, locations, transaction actions, barcode values, physical inventory counts, and related business records submitted through the app.
  • Device and Technical Information
Information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app, such as device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and diagnostic information.
  • Camera Access
The app uses the device camera only when the user chooses to scan barcodes.

3. Camera Permission

BPM requests camera permission so users can scan inventory barcodes. The camera is used only for barcode scanning within the app. The app does not use camera access for advertising or unrelated tracking.

4. Location Data

The BPM mobile app does not collect precise or background location information. If this changes in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the app’s permission disclosures will be updated before location data is collected.

5. How Information Is Used

Information processed by the app is used to:

  • Authenticate authorized BPM portal users using BPM portal credentials or customer-configured Single Sign-On.
  • Perform inventory transactions requested by the user.
  • Update inventory records in the Bellwether Purchasing Manager system.
  • Support barcode scanning and physical inventory count workflows.
  • Maintain app security, reliability, and performance.
  • Investigate errors, support requests, or operational issues.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

6. How Information Is Shared

Inventory and account information entered through the BPM mobile app is processed as part of the Bellwether Purchasing Manager system and is made available to the relevant customer organization according to its BPM portal configuration and user permissions.

Bellwether generally processes information collected through the BPM mobile app on behalf of its customer organizations, which control the information stored in the Bellwether Purchasing Manager system. Customer organizations are responsible for determining how their users use the service and for complying with applicable privacy laws.

We do not sell Personal Information, use Personal Information for targeted advertising, or share Personal Information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate, host, secure, support, or maintain the BPM service.

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or other valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bellwether, our customers, or others.

7. Data Storage and Security

BPM uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Data Retention

Bellwether retains information for as long as necessary to provide the BPM service, in accordance with customer instructions, applicable contractual commitments, legal obligations, and legitimate business requirements such as resolving disputes and enforcing agreements.

Authentication and session data stored on the device may be removed by signing out, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.

9. User Access, Correction, and Deletion

Depending on applicable law and the customer’s role as the controller of the information, individuals may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or portability of their Personal Information.

Requests should generally be directed to the user’s organization, which controls the customer data stored within BPM. Customer organizations may also contact Bellwether support for assistance with BPM portal data requests.

10. Children’s Privacy

The BPM mobile app is a business application for authorized Bellwether Purchasing Manager customers. It is not directed to children and is not intended for personal, family, or household use by children.

11. Third-Party Identity Providers, Platforms, and Services

Customers may configure the Bellwether Purchasing Manager portal to allow Single Sign-On using identity providers such as Microsoft, Google, or Okta. When Single Sign-On is used, the selected identity provider may process sign-in information according to its own privacy policy, security settings, and the customer organization’s configuration.

BPM uses Single Sign-On information only to authenticate authorized users, validate access, and create or maintain the user’s app session. The app does not collect or store the user’s Microsoft, Google, or Okta password.

The app may also be distributed through third-party app platforms such as Google Play and the Apple App Store. Those platforms may process information according to their own privacy policies and account settings.

12. International Processing

Information processed through the BPM mobile app may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries in which Bellwether or its service providers operate. Bellwether takes reasonable steps to protect Personal Information in accordance with applicable law.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above. Where required by applicable law, additional notice will be provided.
