Key Benefits of PMX Purchasing & Materials Management Software
Interface with Ease
Run PMX as a stand-alone system or let it interface with your other systems. You can export PMX data to virtually all types of applications. These include:
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Inventory systems
- MRP systems
- ERP systems
- Accounting systems
Eliminate double entry
You can import vendors, parts, account codes, material receipts, requisitions, and purchasing history from your existing systems into PMX. That means no loss of data and no time-consuming rekeying of entries.
Gain extensive on-line help
Our easy-to use Help system describes each PMX screen in detail. Just choose the Help command from the PMX menu bar to see context-sensitive help without leaving your PMX screen. You can also browse the entire help by using the Content, Index, and Search tools.
Assign custom field names
Use the Global Dictionary to assign your own custom names to PMX data fields. When you create a custom field name, PMX changes the name of that field throughout the system. Your custom field names also appear on requisitions, purchase orders, request for quotations, and all printed reports.
Enjoy system-wide benefits
- PMX is both modular and scalable. You can start with a few modules and add more when you need them. Or start with a single user license and later upgrade to a larger multi-user system.
- The modules work together. For example, the Purchasing module collects data from the Requisitions and Request for Quotations modules.
- Management reports are ready to use. They track exactly what was purchased, by whom, from whom, at what price, and how long it took.
- You can store years of purchasing history in the PMX database.
- Learn and use PMX with ease. Bellwether helps with proven tutorial manuals and extensive on-line help, featuring instant access and return to the original screen.
Make your own rules for system-wide flexibility
With the Control File as a foundation of the PMX system you establish your business rules for operating PMX. Although PMX comes equipped with a default set of commonly used operating rules, you may override these defaults with your own rules at any time. Once your specifications are in place, the Control File supports your special environment with no need for custom programming. Here are other ways to customize PMX for your needs:
- Rename data fields in the PMX Data Dictionary. The new names automatically show up on all screens and reports.
- Set up multiple tax percents for automatic calculations of sales tax.
- Assign authorized vendors to specific groups for quick on-line vendor selection.
- Secure your system with unique passwords and logon IDs for each user. Control which functions each employee may access.
- Store your valid entries (G/L account codes, project numbers, etc.) in your Control File to reduce data entry errors.
- Set up multiple ship-to and bill-to addresses for requisitions, requests for quotations and purchase orders.
- Build a library of hundreds of standard text paragraphs for POs, requisitions, and requests for quotations.
- Define your valid units of measure (UMs) and specify your own translation formulas for automatically converting unlike units of measure.
- Establish budget amounts for specific expense accounts, projects and jobs. PMX will alert you when expenses are going over budget.
